Death By Designed Despair

And so, the man from Cleveland who distinguished himself as a predator, abductor, serial rapist, oppressor, humiliator, violence-prone totalitarian, made the decision to depart life in preference to living in a prolongation of the kind of intolerable imprisonment he brutally mounted on three young women. He was being kept in isolation lest he also experience rape, threats, and attempts on his life.

Taking the initiative he has done something worthwhile at last, sparing the state the cost of his long incarceration. Hanged with a bedsheet in his cell at a prison reception centre in Orient, Ohio. There being prepared for life and a thousand years behind iron bars. A spark of life still left that ebbed to nothing in hospital when desperate measures to save him failed.

"You took eleven years of my life away and I have got it back", said Michelle Knight. "I spent eleven years in hell and now your hell is just beginning", she informed the man who had taken her liberty, her freedom, her future, her hope, her identity and crushed it overwhelmingly. With his death, her own vengeance against the man for whom she must surely have some conflict of emotions has left her with "mixed feelings".

"Gina is a little confused. We are trying to protect her because we have to remember, she was a 14-year-old girl [when she was kidnapped", her aunt Jackie Figaro Roman said. Gina DeJesus's good friend was her abductor's own daughter. Ariel Castro saw his daughter and her young friend together in friendship. Yet nothing deterred him from brutally abducting the young girl and subjecting her to vicious brutality, capturing her like a found object to be used and abused, pleas ignored.

Amanda Berry may have concerns about how she informs her daughter that the man she once knew as 'father' is forever gone. He was 'forever gone' in the sense the child would never see him again, but at some future time the little girl will become a big girl and she will want to know details that she has been sheltered from. What kind of devastation will she feel emotionally when the entire truth of her existence is made clear to her in the future?
