Turning Blasphemy on its Head

The attackers were obviously into the decidedly unholy business of looting.  Masquerading as avengers of Islam. 

The Muslims who ransacked the Hindu temple may have been inspired by the rampages that have been ongoing in the world of Islam, against the West, against Christianity, against the United States, for what they feel was the despicable portrayal of the Prophet Mohammad in the U.S.-made (by a Coptic Egyptian who attempted to make it look as though an Israeli Jew was the culprit) video, the Innocence of Muslims.

The destruction of the Hindu peace and the sanctity of their temple, along with the looting of valuable objects did go rather far to disproving the innocence of some Muslims.  In fact, throughout the Muslim world, those who have been rampaging don't look very innocent at all; rather they appear like barbarians, arrested in time, brought to life through some peculiarly evil alchemy in the modern world. 

Perhaps to illustrate the basic bestiality of human nature? So far over 20 people have been killed in Pakistan.  Proving what exactly is difficult to imagine, other than that people behave like destructive beasts at the least provocation. 

Dozens of Muslims led by a cleric came to the outskirts of Karachi approaching a Hindu neighbourhood known as Hindu Goth.  The Sri Krishna Ram temple was attacked, religious statues broken, a copy of the Bhagavad Gita torn up, and the temple's caretaker beaten.

Desecrating the temple and the sacred text of Hinduism is analogous to setting fire to a mosque and tossing a copy of Koran into the fire.  That done, hordes of Muslims would converge on any religious minority suspected of having carried out such a horrendously sacrilegious act, shouting "Death to the Defilers of Islam!", or simply "Death to America!" and "Death to the Zionists!".

The temple caretaker who had been beaten, Sindha Maharaj, and other Hindu leaders registered a claim against the cleric and other Muslims, with the police.  Curiously, police said none of the suspects had been apprehended, for none had been found. 

But the case has been registered under Section 295-A of the country's blasphemy laws, covering the "outraging of religious feelings", which one can imagine reflects how the Hindu community now feels; outraged.  But they're not rampaging and slaughtering.  They have trustingly turn to the law for justice to be done.

Area police advise that authorities were considering the Hindu complaint under the relevant section of the law.  "Islam's Prophet Mohammed "teaches us to respect others' religions so that ours shall also be respected", said police chief Jaffer Baloch.  Precisely.  Now, how to proceed from that point...?
