Who wouldn't wish them well? They're bright and happy-looking little girls. They share brains, skull, and in all likelihood two differentiated minds but with plenty in common. Their common experience, for one thing; their extremely intimate relationship. Life will not sunder them, but any attempt to separate them would, and the results would be disastrous.

So they are slated to go through their lives in the closes of communion, one with the other.

For these two little girls, that little device that lonely children often use, of imagining a dear friend to whom one can confess anything and share everything, is a reality they were born with. These are the most exceptional of children in the most unusual of circumstances, fused at the head, now four years of age, giving them ample childhood time to be aware of one another as no other humans could possibly conceive of.

Their proximity is truly contiguous and unavoidable; they cannot conceivably seek isolation from one another. So it is therefore to be hoped that they will never experience an episode of stark disagreement with one another. Their parents and the neurologists who have observed them closely, the former in the warm confines of their home setting, the latter through scientific scrutiny believe they share the ability to see through each other's eyes.

And that they are capable of communicating with one another through thoughts. It is not even possible to imagine that kind of mind-thought transference. When these two girls grow older, as it is hoped they will, they may be able to shed light on many mysteries of the human brain, through their unique and wonderful closeness.

It is to be hoped that as they mature and hormones alter their psycho-social, physical presence, their good humour and love for one another will carry them through any life-adversities that may arise.
