Criminally Enterprising Middle Easterners in Canada

 A bootleg cigarette plant, staffed by thirteen people identified as foreign nationals was raided and shut down on a First Nation reserve where the enterprise was operated by non-Indigenous criminal networks who exploited the Indigenous setting as a means to shield their activities from police scrutiny. Ironically, the criminal enterprise was operated by several Middle Eastern men, resident in Hamilton, Ontario, close by the Six Nations of the Grand River territory in southern Ontario.

 

Infamously, there was chaotic tumult in Canada that arose over reaction among Canadians originating from the Middle East, particularly Palestinians when they took to the streets of Canadian cities condemning Israel for 'genocide' as it reacted to a Palestinian terrorist invasion of southern Israel when thousands of Palestinians went on a large-scale huntdown of Israeli civilians in farming towns and villages close to the Gaza border in a planned exercise of sadistic savagery that included mass rape, mutilation, murder and hostage-taking.

 

The Israeli response to the mass atrocity -- which took over 1,200 Israeli lives and the kidnapping of over 250 Jewish infants, children, elderly, women and men, was to invade Gaza, ruled by Hamas which had led the orchestration of bloodletting, joyously recording their atrocities to be posted on social media --  led to an immediate internationl Palestinian-orchestrated public relations push to portray Palestinians as victims of Israeli aggression and 'occupation'. 

 

To ingratiate themselves with 'progressive' left-wing Canadians, Palestinians and their supporters took to portraying themselves as people indigenous to 'Palestine', as opposed to Jews reclaiming their authentic indigenous ancestral land. Making comparison to aggrieved First Nations whom European colonialism had victimized in settling themselves on already-occupied land that became Canada, the anti-Israel, antisemitic link to Indigenous Canadians forged a partnership in opposing the very existence of the Jewish state.

Working in tandem, the Ontario Provincial Police and the Six Nations Police Service seized five commercial-sized cigarette manufacturing machinery, a handgun and tobacco products holding an estimated street value of over $10 million. Over 40,000 kilograms of contraband tobacco and 300 kilograms of shisha tobacco -- typically made use of with a hookah or water pipe -- were seized altogether.

 

An operation named Project TRACK, that led to the raid was initiated when the Six Nations police requested support from the OPP when their own investigation revealed suspicious activity on the reserve. Police soon discovered that profits which the illegal tobacco production generated were channelled toward a criminal enterprise having nothing to do with the reserve itself, other than its illegal encroachment on reserve property. 

 

Following the enforced search warrants at a manufacturing facility of some considerable size at the Six Nations reserve, a heavy police presence was manifested. A home in Hamilton was also raided. Three stolen vehicles, a truck, $25,000 in Canadian currency, cellphones, assorted electronics and packaging material were seized as well.

Two men resident in Hamilton were arrested and charged with trafficking contraband tobacco, possession of tobacco manufacturing equipment, manufacturing tobacco products without a licence, and unlawful possession or sale of tobacco products. The men were identified by police as Andrew Besam Hadaddin, 34, and Mustafa Jaber, 45. 

 

As for the foreign nationals discovered when the facility was raided by police -- the thirteen individuals who were working at the factory -- Canada Border Services Agency officers were called in to deal with their presence. The operation has not been concluded with this raid, but remains an ongoing concern.  It would certainly be interesting to learn through that ongoing investigation whether the profits gained in this illegal operation ended up in the hands of terrorist groups in Gaza and Lebanon.

Cultural Human Trafficking in Child-Sex Predation

"It's very surprising when you have an adolescent performing this. Whether it is an adult or a child, it's appalling."

This is happening. And what is  happening is not a reflection of what could be identified as 'Canadian values' in the sense that this type of social offence is not a common ingredient of the conventional Canadian psyche. It is also not a common occurrence within Canadian society. While predators exist everywhere that psychopaths can be found, the practise of stalking, grooming and trafficking young girls is a fairly recent phenomenon. And it is one that has a definite cultural background with racial dimensions.

Grooming gangs are a common phenomenon in Britain, for example. Their prevalence and their tactics, their countless victims forced into the sex trade by unscrupulous monsters are acknowledged. Yet very little police action has taken place and the reason that this occurs is simple enough; an  unwillingness to confront the traffickers for fear of risk of being called out for racism. And that would be because this is a favoured tactic of 'racialized' people, for some of whom the practise has become business as usual.

In the Toronto-area Peel Region, a 15-year-old boy has been accused of operating a child sex trafficking operation in and about the Toronto Metropolitan area, with girls as young as 11 years of age. Also arrested were three customers who Peel Regional Police have taken into custody to face sex charges. The police investigation revealed that girls aged 11 to 14 had been trafficked and sexually exploited. 

 

The suspects made use of coercion, manipulation and physical violence threats to influence and control the victims where violations of their human rights resulted in financial benefits to their exploiters. Peel Police found 32 victims under the age of 15, victimized through sex trafficking since 2022. Interest in child sexual abuse is a real and dangerous problem in Canadian communities, pointed out Det.-Sgt. Bob Hackenbrook, in charge of the Human Trafficking Unit. 

 

In an undercover operation last year dubbed project Juno,Peel police posted an advertisement offering sex with an underage teen that resulted in investigators facing a flood of eager calls amounting to an average of 100 such calls daily for several weeks. Police made 35 arrests on that occasion, on charges of communications for the purpose of having sex with a person under 18, by the time the operation was shut down. 

Peel has the highest percentage of racialized people in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). 

• 69% of people in Peel identify with a racialized group.
• By comparison, just 34% of Ontarians and 27% of Canadians overall identify with a racialized group.
• Since 2006, the racialized population in Peel increased 72%. 

"The demographics were astounding" said Officer Hackenbrook. From several Ontario cities and towns, businessmen, students, construction workers, retirees and a college teacher were among those responding. "It was very alarming. And a lot them were married, so their families got a rude awakening when they went to bail court the next day."  

The 15-year-old male offender in the current arrest, cannot be identified by law due to his age, despite that he is charged with two counts of trafficking in persons under age 18, three counts of procuring a person under age 18, two counts of receiving a benefit from human trafficking, two counts of material benefit from sexual services by a person under age 18, and three counts of exercise control, direction, or influence.

 

Three of his clients, Mohamad Omar Al-Saleh, 21, from Toronto, Mustafa Abdo 22, from Toronto, and Yousif Al-Gburi, 20 from Mississauga, each stand charged with sexual assault of a female under age 16, sexual interference, and obtaining sexual services of a person under the age of 18 for consideration. It is the minor who recruited/induced young girls into the sex trade, profiting from them, while the adult males were clients whose indecent contact violated the young girls' human rights.

Photographs of the three adults were released by police, but the Youth Criminal Justice Act forbids identifying a minor charged with a crime, leaving name and likeness out of the public eye. One of the young victims two years earlier had reached out for help, leading police to open an investigation. That there are additional victims seems likely to investigators who have reached out to anyone with information to contact police. 

 

Part of the modus operandi of these human smuggling operatives is to move their victims frequently to other locales, and to keep them from having any contact with friends and family. The situation of the growing prevalence of sexual predators and their abused victims has impelled Peel Police to host a provincial human trafficking symposium with the expectation that survivors, victim services providers, police, justice and social services officials, and politicians across Ontario will attend to discuss experiences and help to coordinate greater efforts to disrupt human trafficking.

Three Toronto men were recently taken into police custody, accused of plotting kidnappings of Jewish women off the streets of Toronto, with a view to raping them. One of the three was revealed to be in Canada illegally, his claim for refugee status having been denied in 2018. Azerbaijani national Osman Azizov has remained in Canada nevertheless for an additional six years. Having allied himself with an ISIS sympathizer, random women plucked from the streets of Toronto, along with plots to target the Jewish community with violence became his aspirational agenda.

 

The 19-year-old Azizov had received bail days previously after an August arrest as an accomplice in "armed co-ordinated attempts to kidnap women", according to police. Since then, documents discovered by an investigative reporter revealed the man's  entry to Canada alongside his family in 2017, through illegally crossing the border from the United States into Canada, during a flood of "irregular border-crossers", the result of President Trump's ban on refugee admissions from six Muslim-majority nations.

 

In response to which, then-Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau issued his reaction with a declaration: "To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of  your faith"; a sanctimonious demonstration of the man's 'progressive' credentials. That statement had its effect with a steady stream of foreign nationals taking the opportunity to illegally enter Canada from the United States to claim asylum.

 

Statistics maintained by the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada reflect that a mere fifty percent of the total asylum claims were reviewed by authorities having been approved; the remaining half "abandoned" or "rejected". Azizov's family was placed in the "rejected" category in 2018 and by 2018 appeals to the Refugee Appeal Division and the Federal Court had gained them nothing. Even so, Azizov held status as a permanent resident, after which obtaining full citizenship potentially follows.

 

Not himself charged with terrorism, Azizov is accused of being part of a trio engaged in a pursuit to kidnap and rape Jewish women, in the company of an individual, Waleed Khan -- in an attempted armed kidnapping of random Toronto women -- a man accused by police of having ties to Islamic State. Khan is accused of a conspiracy to commit murder, for the benefit of, at the direction of, or in association with a terrorist group.

Altogether, Khan, Azizov and co-accused Farad Sadaat, 19, face no fewer than 79 criminal charges.
