Because It Is a Jewish State

The statement was in reference to an 26-year-old American-Turkish activist from Seattle who was killed last Friday in the wake of a demonstration condemning Israeli settlements in Judea and Samaria [West Bank]. Shortly after clashes took place between Palestinians and Israeli forces, Aysenur Ezgi Eygi was killed in a misadventure, one that is not uncommon in war zones. The event of a weekly demonstration against settlement expansion that has been taking place for years, saw Eygi, volunteering with the group International solidarity Movement taking part in a stone-throwing event.

The never-ending violent surges since the Israel-Hamas conflict initiated by the terrorist Palestinian Hamas having dispatched thousands of Hamas operatives on a mission to despoil, rape, loot, mutilate and murder Israeli citizens from infants to the elderly was the occasion of Eygi's misfortune. As Palestinian terrorist continue to attack Israelis, counter-attacks by Israelis on Palestinian terrorists whether they are located in Gaza or the West bank have roiled the Territories.

That classic observation that 'violence begets violence' is never so true as it is in the Middle East; in particular between those who name themselves as Arab Palestinians (as opposed to Jews more familiarly before 1948 referred to as 'Palestinians', dating back to the era of the Roman occupation of the Middle East.) Current Arab Palestinians embrace a fiction of victimhood in the belief that the ancestral geography of ancient Judean lands is their inheritance, not the patrimony of Jewish descendants.

Palestinian terrorism is devoted to the aspirational destruction of the state of Israel. In the absence of the Jewish state, the opportunity for the entire area to become a state dedicated to Palestinian Arabs motivates Palestinians to adopt a death cult clamouring for the death of Jews and the disappearance of Israel. Since Israel's 1948 resurrection on a tiny sliver of land representing the much greater area that was once Judean, Arab Palestinians have rejected any opportunity given them to found a state of their own, neighbouring Israel.

Their death cult indoctrinates Palestinians from childhood into the belief that it is their destiny to sacrifice their lives for the greater good of achieving the destruction of Israel and the consequential establishment of their longed-for state; not merely in the areas offered them by the United Nations in its Partition Plan, but 'from the river Jordan to the Mediterranean sea' in Israel's absence from the geography. Their leaders from 1948 forward have rejected every opportunity to achieve peace with Israel, acknowledge its sovereign presence, and establish their own state alongside that of Israel.

Palestinians, in line with their celebration of martyrdom for their 'cause' revel in the sacrifices their supporters, including Palestinians make, paying honorariums to Palestinians who commit terrorism against Israel, and giving generous endowments to the families of those whose lives are taken in the process. Terrorist action is commemorated by street- and event-naming in honour of those who willingly die for the 'cause'. 

The death of Aysenur Ezi Eyi became an event by the Palestinian Authority in a funeral procession that took place for Eygi in Nablus, while Turkish authorities plan on repatriating her body to Turkey, in acord with her family's wishes. Condemnation of Israel for all such events, inevitable to a degree in the fog of war comes easily in the West, and in partular from the United Nations, whose UNRWA body which enshrines the permanancy of 'refugeee status' to all Palestinians, generation after generation, encourages and supports the Palestinian 'struggle' against 'occupation'.

 

While those in the United States and Ramallah cast aspersions on Israel and its military under duress of war and unending attacks by Palestinians, fulminating about a 'foreign army' killing an 'American citizen', the very fact that an American citizen saw fit to place herself among others decrying the violence forced upon Israel, and seeing fit to denounce Israeli Jews for ensconcing themselves in an area in antiquity Judean while a non-indigenous group claim it as their own, demonstrates the will to demonize Israel and isolate and slander it because it is a Jewish state.

The Jewish community in Ontario appears unified in their disappointment and outrage that an individual who is in a prominent position of authority in one of the province's as well as the parent union representing the largest public union in the country whose position is that of a union head took to the Internet to publicly celebrate the ghastly event of October 7 when Hamas terrorist operatives mass-raped, mutilated Israeli girls and women, hunted down and murdered 1,200 Israeli citizens and abducted 250 Israeli children, women and the elderly. Characterizing that signal tragedy as a victory for an underdog.

 

There are many who choose to believe -- because it is a charge that well suits their inner wellspring of antisemitism -- that Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank are mercilessly persecuted by Israel, when the living reality is the reverse and always has been, from 1948 to the present. The 'violence' that Hahn attributes to Israel conveniently bypasses the fact that Palestinians in their majority approve of the terrorists among them burning Israeli families alive, tormenting and torturing Israeli girls and women before raping and murdering them.

 

There has never been a dearth of Palestinians prepared to launch attacks against their Israeli neighbours; the grisly suicide bombings of the orchestrated Intifadas following on Yasser Arafat's PLFP and Black September -- plane and ship hijackings and murders of Israelis; Munich Olympics attacks and murder of Israeli athletic Olympic team -- a case in point, respectively. Although Jordan fought a deadly war with the PLO to protect his crown from a Palestinian threat in 1970, its peace treaty with Israel hasn't kept it from involvement in moving deadly weaponry through Jordan for Hamas.

 

Israel Defense Forces entered Gaza following the October 7 bloodbath in response to the Hamas-led, PLFP, Fatah, PIJ terrorist groups inspired by, funded by, trained by and weaponized by Iran and Qatar to declare this war that Fred Hahn deplores as 'Israeli genocide' of Palestinians. Truth remains an unattainable reality for all those preferring to remain oblivious of its presence, for to do otherwise sketches out the deliberate slandering of a state forced to extreme action by its enemies.

 

On October 8, Hahn wrote celebratory accolades of the wonderful exploits of Hamas in butchering Israelis. On August 11, ten months later, he saw fit to share a video on his Facebook account of an Olympic diver identified with a Star of David on his shoulder. The video portrays the diver flipping in the air as he dives, and as he does, becoming a bomb. This is the kind of unnerving sentiment that appears to satisfy twisted minds such as that of Fred Hahn, vice-president of the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

 

And nor does it particularly appear to bother the greater number of union members who purportedly voted this disgusting man back for another term in the office, in a May vote. Giving him the confidence he boasts of that he will not surrender his position in the shame it deserves, for to do so would be to desert the trust of the union membership that relies upon his judgement, despite the order by the union's national executive to do just that. 

Jewish CUPE members are aghast at the union they trusted, they paid fees in its support, they were actively engaged with, leaving them now under the supervision of this raving antisemite, isolated and rejected. Jewish groups have responded to the outrage of a national  union being taken in such an exclusionary, political direction. And Hahn, defiantly states his intention to "continue to fight side by side" with union members; only the union members -- not the board -- he asserts, would decide his fate.

The Hateful Vipers In Our Midst

Samidoun identifies itself as a charity, one concerned with the travails of Islamist Palestinian prisoners languishing in Israeli incarceration. Its operations and actions are charitable only in its enthusiastic support of terrorism as a 'legitimate' arm of Palestinian 'resistance' to Israeli 'occupation'. Occupation in the sense of self-defence by the Jewish state of Israel against decades of Palestinian lethal violence targeting Israel and its Jewish population. A Jewish state that has given citizenship to Palestinians comprising 20 percent of the population. 

Cates, and her husband Khaled Barakat, in fact comprise the bulk of Samidoun's leadership and employees rolled into one. They have been enabled to spew their rancid antisemitism, based in Vancouver, with no blow-back from government at any level, despite their support for Palestinian terrorist groups that appear on the federal government's terrorist list. In very fact, the federal government led by prime minister Justin Trudeau felt it appropriate to sign a contract with Khaled Barakat to teach federal public servants how to identify and deal with racism.

Yet another Liberal government appointee whose readily accessible online support of terrorism and antisemitic outbursts on social media somehow slipped the notice of federal authorities appointing them to positions of trust and influence, such as that of Birju Dattani, a bona fide slanderer of Israel who posted racist-incriminating messages under the pseudonym of 'Mujahid' Dattani, an identity Canada's flaccid intelligence agencies proved incapable of penetrating. All of whom, along with others of their ilk, should be invited to permanently leave Canada.

It is no closed secret that Samidoun is affiliated with the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, another listed  terrorist group in Canada which both Germany and Israel identify as a terrorist entity. It is clear from the statements issued with pride by Kates that the Hamas terrorist organization is considered a champion of Palestinian interests in their compact with Iran, Hezbollah, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the PLFP, and Yemen's Houthis which all share a well-publicized goal of destroying Israel.

Kates had been arrested in a Vancouver police investigation in May of 2024 in reference to language she uttered constituting hate speech at a rally. Despite the arrest there were no charges laid. She was quoted from an interview on Iranian media, Ofogh TV, later translated by the Middle East Media Research Institute. At the "behest of Zionist organizations and political officials", she remarked, police are pursuing hate-crime charges against her. She is lobbying to have Hezbollah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad removed from Canada's terrorist entity list.

A petition was lodged with the Canadian government by B'nai Brith Canada advocacy group for steps to be taken to have Samidoun representatives deported from Canada. While Barakat is of Palestinian parentage born in a small village outside Jerusalem, Kates appears to have been born in the United States. The hateful bile they spew is no credit to Canada, yet the Trudeau government seems not in the least concerned. A reflection of its inaction at the regular 'protests' seen on Canadian streets that hurl threats at Canada's Jewish population with impunity.

Although her April speech for which charges are yet to be laid was condemned by British Columbia's Premier David Eby, and her arrest was "the right message that needs to be sent", according to the Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs, the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association has argued that police impeded the woman's free-speech rights. The video interpreted and circulated by MEMRI, was filmed when Kates received the Islamic Human Rights and Human Dignity Award in Iran.

After which she thanked the committee awarding the recognition, emphasizing and lauding "The role of the Islamic Republic in opposing American, Western and Zionist policies, and the support provided by the Iranian people to the resistance in Palestine, Lebanon, and the region."

Teaching Bias and Hate

"[UNRWA teachers and staff produce their personal supplementary teaching and study materials rife with antisemitism and] calls for martyrdom, violence and jihad."

An Unrwa school converted to a camp for Palestinians fleeing Israel Defense Forces’ bombardments in Gaza, since Oct. 7, when Hamas massacred an estimated 1,200 people in Israel.

 

As examples of what IMPACT-se found was an Arabic reading assignment for Grade 9 students referencing a bus bombing, naming it a "barbecue party ... with firebombs on one of the buses of the colonial settlement", as well as a Grade 5 Arabic language summary venerating terrorists as 'heroes'. A March 2023 report by IMPACT-se documented 133 UNRWA staff posting antisemitic statements and incitements to violence on social media.

Yet this and other documentation readily available to alert donors to the United Nations special refugee for Palestine administrative organization's institutionalized bias against Israel, failed to make an impression on any of the liberal democracies that routinely donated huge yearly financial supports to UNRWA in support of its activities operating schools in the Palestinian Territories. 

 

Now that solid evidence has been produced of UNRWA employees' complicity in the Hamas/Palestinian Islamic Jihad violent assault in southern Israel's towns and kibbutzim located near the Gaza border, those same oblivious donors -- seventeen in all, to date -- have announced their intention to suspend further funding, awaiting an official investigation to corroborate the evidence provided by Israel to a purportedly shocked United Nations.

Skeptics among international observers believe the funding will be quietly restored after a period of time when the scandal's effects have been muted in the public mind. Unless the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees is totally disbanded and other arms of the United Nations' charity groups continue its work at a remove. UNRWA has basically served over the years as a permanent employment vehicle for Palestinians in Gaza.

And while a United Nations umbrella refugee organization, the UN Refugee Agency, serves global refugee populations with an eye to settling them in accepting countries, nowhere else but in 'Palestine' are the 'refugees' considered permanent. With the exception of Jordan, the surrounding Arab nations preferred to have them maintained as refugees in perpetuity, supporting 'right of return', and UNRWA was obliging. However, since Israel isn't going anywhere and the 20% population of Palestinian-Israelis fulfill the Jewish state's obligations to democracy and inclusion, 'right of return' is off the books.

Which hasn't stopped either the Palestinian Authority, Hamas or UNRWA from nursing the intention of 'return' not only of the estimated 700,000 Palestinians that fled the fledgling Israeli state when Arab armies converged on it to destroy its nascent promise, but the generations that followed, permitted to take on the mantle of 'refugees' and now amounting to over five million. The 850,000 Arabized Jews who had lived in Arab ME countries for millennia -- exiled when Israel was reborn -- streamed into Israel.

Yet over 50 Palestinian 'refugee camps' exist, in the territories and in Arab states. The Arab states refuse to give them the rights of citizenship and have never integrated the Palestinian refugees into their populations. Initially the rationale was for them to remain refugees, a festering sore as a bulwark in their plans to destroy Israel, and later in acknowledging that Israel was there to stay, disinterested in giving the Palestinians citizenship because of their proclivity to produce unsettling destabilization and violence.

Palestinians in their numbers began emigrating, and with their UN-mandated refugee status, took up residence in welcoming countries of the West. And there their agitation, destabilization and resentment against the 'occupation' forces of the Jewish State and the Israel Defense Forces turned into propaganda that lent them sympathy from the host countries. Unions and academia in particular empathized with their victimhood status and latent antisemitism was awakened.

Throughout the West, the infiltration of Islam has been steady over the years, with millions of Muslims establishing themselves to the point where government agencies, academia, unions, and elections served the purpose of enabling a spread of faulting Jews for the plight of Palestinians whose leadership time and again spurned all offers of a peaceful settlement and a state of their own, in favour of mounting ongoing violence against Israel and Jews everywhere.

In Canada, a Mainstreet Research poll found that 10.6 percent of Canadians over age 65 disapprove of Canada's support for Israel, while 26.4 percent among those aged 18 to 34 disapprove. While nine percent of Canadian women over 55 say their "sympathies rest more with" the Palestinians according to an Angus Reid poll, the number increases to 35 percent among women 18 to 34. Students at university are ingesting the bias of their professors.

But it even starts in grade school where a Brampton high school principal spoke of rising antisemitism as 'anti-Zionism' having "skyrocketed in the wake of the Israel-led genocide in Palestine". In Ontario a principal tweeted anti-Israel messages displayed in the school foyer. A professor at University of Toronto,  hearing of violent rapes at the Israeli Nova music festival led Safia Aidid to tweet her "solidarity with the Palestinian people, today and every day".

Professor Uahikea Maile called for people to 'stand behind' Hamas's act of 'anticolonial resistance'. The following day, another U of T professor, Girish Daswani, spoke of "what is happening to Palestine" as a result of "settler colonialism, genocide and fascism". At the University of British Columbia a professor encouraged his students to leave their class to "participate in the global protest against the Palestinian genocide". A union representing contract and part-time faculty at York University issued a 'toolkit' to teaching assistants, calling on them to skip their regular curricula and substitute accounts of Israeli 'genocide' in Palestine.

A tide of anti-Israel, antisemitic bile has been sweeping the West, through a hugely successful public relations/propaganda vehicle spurred by Palestinian students in schools and universities throughout the West. Ghada Sasa, a TA and PhD candidate at McMaster University suggested that countries were halting funding to UNRWA because "Zionists vaguely linked it to October 7", an event to be celebrated as the "day that Palestinians broke through their open-air prison".
